A long and boring 686 kilometer connection route wore the team down before the start of the 176 kilometer special stage. Even with the long connection route, the very extreme conditions during the special and difficulties in navigating the team finished eleventh of the day.
The fact that the Dakar has now been under way for about a week and a half is starting to show on the Ginaf truck. With skilled driving by Martin, excellent work from the mechanics and help of top quality Valvoline products there are no big issues with the truck, but one and half week of brutal extreme conditions is starting to wear the machine down. The team will focus on passing the finish line safely and not on pushing it to the maximum risking accidents so late in the rally.
The machine will have to face 3 more days of extreme conditions before reaching the ultimate finish line in Buenos Aires!
