Stage 8, finally back in 10th place

After days filled of problems and more problems, this was finally a day when there were hickups, but the result was still great a top10 position at 10th and a great motivation for the following day. The hardest part of Dakar is now coming up, the last part everything can still happen. Martin is currently at the 18th position overall

The first photos of Dakar 2012

Dakar 2012 has begun, the first kilomters have been driven and the results of the first stage are in! Valvoline has started Dakar with a great result, finishing 7th and 30th. Here are the first pictures of team arriving and going through the technical inspection. This year the trucks will drive on the latest and most revolutionary Valvoline product NextGen, putting it to the ultimate test in the worlds most extreme rally! Dakar 2012...it has started

The most extreme rally in the world: Dakar! Has started again. All competitors are on their way and the first cars and motorcycles have already made it back to the basecamp. The Valvoline truck has passed WP1 in position 11. See the video of the kick-off below

Dakar day 2, some bad luck

Day 2 of Dakar started of as a dream, Martin was very quick and passed waypoint1 in second position! The second day of Dakar started of amazing, passing Waypoint 1 in second position. Martin hit a rock and a tire blew. Normally not much of a problem, but the ring holding the tire in place was bend and so they couldn't drive on and had to wait for the quick assistant Martien to come with spare parts It had put them back in 24th position :-(. Lets hope for a better day on day 3.

Stage 1 Dakar, great results

The first round of Dakar has started with a sound result for the Valvoline team! Martin started as 10th and drove as fast as he could. With only a slight delay in the dunes, the team managed to overtake the mighty Kamaz and finished 7th of the day, a great position to start from on day 2. See video of day 1 below
