Starting from eighteenth position, the Van den Brink team continued to move closer to the top 10, by quickly overtaking several trucks early on in day five of the Dakar Rally. The push forward took the team into twelfth position, where they decided to focus on crossing in the finish line instead of pushing the truck even further into a higher spot.
Although there were some minor technical problems – toward the end of the special stage, the truck began to loose air pressure – it did not cause them to lose any time. Today the Dakar Rally enters the famous and feared sand dunes of Chile. Martin van den Brink feels confident that they are ready for the challenge. “Today was a great day and that really motivates us for tomorrow,” said the satisfied Dakar trucker.
