DCT operates like two manual transmissions working in parallel. One clutch handles the odd-numbered gears – fist, third and fifth – while the other handles the evens. The clutches engage and disengage simultaneously for seamless torque delivery to the drive wheels, delivering accelerations with virtually no drop-off.
