On Saturday, the 2011 Dakar Rally came to a close after a long two weeks of weathering the elements and the unforgiving desert and mountainous terrain of the South American course.
During the final stage of the Rally, the Van den Brink team achieved their best result of this year’s event, finishing in eighth place, earning the team an overall eleventh place in the truck category – making them the second Dutch team in the overall standings and the best performing truck of the Ginaf team.
It was a long, hard and unforgiving Dakar but the Van den Brink team managed to deliver a strong, consistent performance, bouncing back from setbacks and competing their best in each stage close to the Top 10. Valvoline congratulates the Van den Brink team, Martin, Martien and Peter, on their awesome of display of extreme performance under very difficult conditions.
