The last two races in the FIA NEZ (North European Zone) Championship are history and Valvoline drivers Arne Johannessen and Roar Johansen finished one-two. Arne took a superb victory in the Unlimited Class with 123 out of 150 possible points. Roar secured second place with 91 points, ahead of Kjell Magne Rimstad with 77 points. All the medals in the FIA NEZ Championship go to Norwegians and will be handed out at the Norwegian Auto Racing Association’s official prize gala in November.
The 2011 season started well for the team with a first and second again in the Norwegian Cup after four of seven races. Roar holds the lead only one point ahead of Arne who is a comfortable 11 points ahead of third place.
Besides the FIA NEZ championship Arne and Roar competed also in the Norgescup. The season is on the wane, but the final of this year’s Norgescup remains. Roar leads but is just a point ahead of Arne. It is clear that there is a double victory for the team here, but who takes with the title? The one who finishes best in the final race wins the Cup.
